Dopo trent’anni di internet e quasi venti di smartphone, il sapere ha cambiato forma e natura. Un fatto può essere del tutto falso eppure circolare largamente come vero. Nell’epoca della post-verità si è indebolito fino ad andare distrutto il criterio di autorità che dovrebbe garantire la validità dell’informazione. Nell’”Evo di Trump” si sta clamorosamente consolidando il passaggio dai fatti ai “fattoidi”, che lui chiama “fatti alternativi”, soprattutto riguardo a temi sensibili come il cambiamento climatico, i vaccini, l’antisemitismo, i fenomeni della politica internazionale: chi è l’aggredito chi l’aggressore? … fino a negare l’evidenza di inconfutabili verità scientifiche e a incoraggiare la svalutazione/delegittimazione degli specialisti.

RAFFAELE SIMONE Linguista e saggista di fama internazionale. Professore emerito dell’Università Roma Tre, ha insegnato in diverse università nel mondo. È membro dell’Académie Royale belga e dell’Accademia della Crusca ed è Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres di Francia.
