In tempo di guerra cambia il modo in cui guardiamo alle guerre del passato? Dalle civiltà del Mediterraneo fino all'età dei droni, quale è stato il perché delle guerre? E qual è il rapporto, se ne esiste uno, tra guerra e natura umana? La guerra è stata uno dei fattori storici di maggiore modernizzazione degli Stati, delle società, delle economie, della politica. È un acceleratore delle condizioni e delle prospettive delle comunità umane: le guerre implicano scarti e provocano fughe in avanti ma anche, spesso, conducono ad arretramenti spaventosi. Da Sparta fino alle guerre del Novecento, quale è stato il ruolo della guerra nel processo di civilizzazione umana?

LAURA PEPE Storica. È stata allieva di Eva Cantarella e insegna Istituzioni di diritto romano e Diritto greco antico all’Università degli Studi di Milano. Ha scritto manuali per le scuole secondarie superiori e ha curato per il Corriere della Sera le collane Vita degli antichi (35 volumi, 2020) e Amori mitici (20 volumi, 2024). Ha collaborato con il canale televisivo Focus. Tra i suoi numerosi titoli: Atene a processo (Zanichelli 2019); I tendini di Zeus. (Solferino 2023); Un giorno con i giganti. La Grecia antica in sei lezioni (Rizzoli 2023); Sparta (Laterza 2024).

ANDREA ZANNINI Insegna Storia moderna all’Università di Udine, collabora con l’Istituto Friulano per la Storia del Movimento di Liberazione e il Centro Studi Pier Paolo Pasolini di Casarsa. Scrive sul Messaggero Veneto. Tra le sue ultime pubblicazioni: L’altro Pasolini. Guido, Pier Paolo, Porzûs e i turchi, prefazione di Walter Veltroni (Marsilio 2022); Controstoria dell'alpinismo (Laterza 2024). È vice presidente dell’associazionevicino/lontano.
